Arkad Group was founded in 2008 by principals, Mario Camino and Daniel Rivera. Since its inception, Arkad has evolved to become one of the premiere real estate developers in Central/Northern New Jersey for single family and mid-size Mixed Use Transit Oriented property. PLAINFIELD, NJ - Mario Camino remembers sitting in the window booth at Maria’s on North Avenue as a child and gazing across the street, up at the apartment windows where his family had lived for decades. Now the real estate developer owns that building, along with 3 others in the area. At just 31 years old, he believes he is the person who can reshape a Plainfield neighborhood that badly needs a second chance. Camino has bold plans to revitalize a two-block area of Plainfield’s downtown district stretching from the train station to East Front Street, between Park and Watchung avenues. 




PLAINFIELD, NJ - THE PLAINFIELD VISIONARY - "WE WANT TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE RESIDENTS OF PLAINFIELD, NJ" Camino said. During his 20s, his focus was on residential properties, most of them distressed, which he bought, renovated, and resold. By the time he reached 30, he was ready to turn his sights on commercial real estate. He wanted to manage larger assets and  “do better for his community  than just buy buildings.” he said. His vision was to help improve neighborhoods and finding the right place was the first test. “So many places were already taken--Jersey City and Weehawken, for example–and there were developers who had much deeper pockets than I did.” In Plainfield he saw many ‘fixer uppers’ that could benefit from his expertise and commitment. Nicknamed the “Queen City,” the Union County municipality had lost much of its regal luster. And the timing was ripe, the city was implementing a new set of zoning and development rules, part of a new master plan recently adopted. Camino read the rules and envisioned how he could contribute to the revitalization of Plainfield's downtown. 

PLAINFIELD, NJ 2017The city will unveil a new public mural downtown during a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Saturday. In conjunction with the Department of Economic Development and Division of Community Development, the city has announced a ribbon-cutting for the mural in its Downtown Business District. The recently completed mural project at the Queen’s Courtyard, located at 112-16 Front Street and 107-117 Park Ave;

PLAINFIELD, NJ 2017 -  Arkad Press Release: Obama Green Inc Foundation, a 501c3 Non for profit entity created with the intent to pursue the academic advancement for the Obama Green Charter High School hosted its first fundraiser on Saturday April 26th. Camino, the newest member of the foundation said "The goal for this fundraiser is to raise capital from family and friends of the foundation that will in turn become the 1st scholarship in the history of the school. "The plan is to create PRE-College acceptance incentives that will allow for young adults to NOT have to worry about expenses associated with college applications, books, traveling and moving expenses and other unforeseen that might hinder their ability to go to college" Camino teamed up with an artist who sold his art and shared half of his proceeds with the school and its schoolarship initiative. 

PLAINFIELD, NJ - TAPinto 2017 -  The Plainfield Planning Board has approved a new exterior design for developer Mario Camino’s building at the corner of Park Avenue and West Seventh Street. Camino received approvals for 14 apartments over commercial space in the vacant building, with brick and glass exterior. Since acquiring the building, Camino & Rivera had it cleared of debris from years of neglect and invasion by squatters.  He also worked out an easement agreement with the church next door and kept up a full roster of other projects.

PLAINFIELD, NJ 2018 -   Arkad Press Release - Mario Camino and Daniel Rivera, owners of the Arkad Group spent a few hours at the Queen City Academy as guest speakers for its monthly mentoring the youth program. Camino, whose daughter, Amoriz, attends and is currently an honors student at the academy, shared his knowledge and story with a group of over 120 young men.  Along with his business partner, Daniel Rivera, they delivered a series of empowering tips revolving around financial literacy, real estate, college acceptance and hard work.
